Angelscribe For Gmail ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information and our dedication to data security.
Summary: We do not collect your personal data, we do not use central servers to store your emails, and your API keys never leave your local browser environment.
1. Data Storage & API Keys
Local Storage Only: All API keys (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Claude) provided by you are stored exclusively within your browser's chrome.storage.local.
No Developer Access: We have no technical means to access, view, or collect your keys or your stored configurations.
Data Security: By utilizing Chrome's secure storage (Manifest V3), your keys are protected by the browser's native security architecture.
2. Email Content & Processing
On-Demand Access: The Extension only accesses the content of the Gmail compose window when you explicitly trigger the action (e.g., clicking "Read from Gmail").
Direct Transmission: Your draft content is sent directly from your browser to the AI service provider you have configured. We do not act as an intermediary.
No Data Retention: We do not store, log, monitor, or "see" the text of your emails. Your data is never used by us to train any AI models.
No Selling of Data: We do not, and will never, sell, rent, or trade your personal data or email content to any third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purposes.
Functional Use Only: Use of information received from Google APIs is strictly limited to providing and improving the core writing assistance features of the Extension.
4. Third-Party AI Providers
By using your own API Key, your data is subject to the privacy policy of the respective AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or DeepSeek). We encourage you to review their specific terms regarding API data usage.
5. User Rights & Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally, you have full control. You can delete all stored API keys and preferences at any time by simply uninstalling the Extension or clearing the extension's storage in Chrome settings.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
